چکیده
Abstract The development of semiconductor sensors for new particle tracking detectors places increasing limits on sensor characteristics such as uniformity, size and shape inefficient areas active compared to inactive areas. Accurately assessing these relatively subtle effects requires either measurements in beams or the modification samples be used dedicated laser test setups. Active Region Extent Assessment with X-rays (AREA-X) has been developed an alternative method fast, efficient precise study area a sensor. It uses monochromatic, micro-focused X-ray beam 10–20 keV energy range provided by several synchrotron lines photo current induced measure depth responsive volume. can local inhomogeneities inefficiencies, overall extent volume its localised application, which makes need gather statistics over large unnecessary, allowing fast readout, enables studies behaviour at external parameters, e.g. temperature applied bias voltage. This paper presents measurement concept technical setup measurement, results from initial well capabilities limitations method.

We present results from the analysis of deep ROSAT HRI and PSPC observations of the spiral galaxy M81. The inferred total (0.5–2 keV band) luminosity of M81 is ∼ 3×10 ergs s, excluding the contribution from identified interlopers found within the D25 ellipse. The nucleus of the galaxy alone accounts for about 65% of this luminosity. The rest is due to 26 other X-ray sources (contributing ∼ 10%)...

The medical practitioner wishes a lung radiograph to be capable of revealing details uhich. are hardly perceptible. Jf he does not see a certain suspected detail does this then mean that that detail is non-existent, or is it that the X-ray picture is unable to reveal it? For a study of the general problem of perceptibility of details in X-ray technique good use -can be made of specially constru...

C onventional imaging methods capture an image of an object by recording, in a multipixel detector, the intensity and color of a light beam that hits the object. The technique of ghost imaging is different. It forms an image of the object using correlations between the intensities of two light beams, an “object beam” that strikes the object and a “reference beam” that does not. Crucially, in th...

The Soft X-ray Undulator beamline at the NSLS supports a soft x-ray imaging program including scanning transmission microscopy, scanning photoemission microscopy, Gabor and Fourier transform holography, and large angle diffraction. Zone plates from an LBL Center for X-ray Optics/IBM collaboration are used as optical elements. The current instrumentation of the beamline and the experimental stat...
